Palatine Zoning Board Approves Medical Marijuana Dispensary
The Palatine Village Council will decide in November whether to move forward with building a distribution facility in town.

Palatine is one small step closer to building a medical marijuana dispensary in town after the Palatine Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday approved in a 5-3 vote a proposal for a distribution facility in the former Pico Tile building, 310 W. Colifax Road, according to the Daily Herald.
Nature’s Care is petitioning the city to allow them to sell medical marijuana to patients who are signed up for the state pilot program, the newspaper reports.
The proposal must now go before the village council for approval in November. A petitioner last month proposed building a medical marijuana dispensary in Palatine but it was denied after village officials said it was too close to residential homes, according to the Daily Herald.

If the Nature’s Care facility is approved by the Palatine Village Council, it would need to then obtain one of the 60 medical marijuana dispensary licenses available through the state, according to the article.
