Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car On I-90 Near Des Plaines: Police

DES PLAINES, IL — A pedestrian walking in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near Elmhurst Road was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday night, according to the Illinois State Police. The incident occurred at around 8:45 p.m.

The name and identity of the deceased has not been released, with an autopsy planned Thursday by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police responded to the area and found the pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead. No injuries were reported on scene by the driver of the car.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
