Pedestrian Struck By Train, Killed In Arlington Heights: Report
Motorists were being advised to avoid the railroad crossing at Ridge Avenue and Northwest Highway following the Wednesday morning incident.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train Wednesday morning, halting traffic in both directions, according to police. Train No. 603 hit the pedestrian, according to Metra.
Chicago Tribune is reporting the woman died following the 6:15 a.m. incident.
There were extensive delays for Metra train services for several hours after.

Police were advising motorists to avoid the railroad crossing at Ridge Avenue and Northwest Highway. According to police, Northwest Highway remained open while Ridge Avenue was shut down at the tracks.
