Police Holiday Food Drive Planned For Saturday In Rolling Meadows
Food collections will benefit local pantries, according to organizers.
ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — The Rolling Meadows Police Department is organizing a holiday food drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Jewel-Osco parking lot on Kirchoff Road. Food collections will benefit local pantries, according to organizers.
Requests from area food pantries include:
- razors/shavers, shaving gel/shaving cream (for women and men)
- toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo
- laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, Kleenex
- canned peas, corn, carrots
- Hamburger Helper, stuffing mix, instant potatoes
- juice boxes or apple juice
- flavored pasta sauce and pasta
- baby wipes and diapers (sizes 5, 6 and 7)
- dry or wet dog food and canned cat food
- pancake mix and pancake syrup
- snacks (crackers, potato chips, Fritos, etc.)
- crunchy peanut butter
- coffee ground, instant regular, or decaf
- condiments — ketchup, salad dressing, mayonnaise, mustard
- dried beans, black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans
- canned soups (beef, vegetable, steak and potato, etc.)
- paper grocery bags
