Political Sign, Flag Stolen From Home: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

The resident said the theft occurred at his home in the 3000 block of Huntington Drive.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

  • Darren Blake, 66, of the 2000 block of Ashland Avenue, Evanston, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 8, in the 200 block of E. Sigwalt. A court date of Oct. 30 was assigned.
  • Mark R. Nowell, 63, of the 0-10 block of N. Regency Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of violating an order of protection, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 6:12 p.m. Oct. 4, in the 0-10 block of N. Regency Drive. A court date of Oct. 29 was assigned.

MANUFACTURING CANNABIS

Aliaksei Churautsou, 19, of the 10 block of Beechwood Court, Buffalo Grove, is accused of manufacturing/delivering cannabis, and was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Oct. 10, in the 3800 block of N. Kennicott Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 15.

ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD

  • Shawayma S. Kessler Hoogstraat, 32, of the 2100 block of S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of endangering the life of a child, and was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 8, in the 200 block of E. Sigwalt Street. She was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 13.
  • Edward J. Quigley, 53, of the 6900 block of N. Owen Avenue, Chicago, is accused of endangering the life of a child, and was arrested at noon Oct. 9, at the Arlington Heights Police Department. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 13.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

Joshua A. Murray Barker, 19, of the 900 block of W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of motor vehicle theft, and was arrested at 6:06 p.m. Oct. 8, in the 900 block of W. Rand Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 14.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A citizen reported at 7:27 p.m. Oct. 2, seeing someone rummage through a black Ford parked in the parking lot in the 900 block of E. Golf Road. The male is described as black, between the age of 15 and 20, wearing light brown joggers, light brown jacket and a white bandanna.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee at Ulta, 13 W. Rand Road, reported at 7:21 p.m. Oct. 4, two males had stolen an unknown number of fragrances. The two were thin, wearing dark-colored sweatpants and surgical masks.
  • An employee at Dick's Sporting Goods, 401 E. Palatine Road, reported at 6:35 p.m. Oct. 6, a male stole some Nike Apparel items. The male was described white, approximately 5-foot-10, slim build, bald head, wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, and flip-flops. They left in a silver SUV.

THEFT

A resident in the 3000 block of Huntington Drive reported that during the overnight hours of Oct. 3, someone had stolen his political lawn sign and American flag.
