Public Invited to Attend Hersey’s Coffee House

The public is invited to attend John Hersey High School’s 12th annual Coffee House that takes place in the school’s Black Box Theater on Tuesday, March 18, during all lunch periods from 10:15 a.m.–1 p.m.  Each year, hundreds of students partake in this unique experience by showcasing their talents from poetry recitations, singing, and/or playing a musical instrument.

Founder and sponsor Lara Becker says, "Our Black Box is converted into a make-shift ‘dinner theater space.’  Students can stop by during their lunch hour and perform or sit back, relax and enjoy the many talented students here."  Students and staff alike enjoy this much anticipated event. "I look forward to Hersey's Coffee House each year, because it shows off many of our school’s talents,” said senior Tia Lindholm. This unique experience is made possible, in part, to High School District 214’s Arts Unlimited Program.
