Rabine Receives Michael Flynn Endorsement In IL Governor Race

SCHAUMBURG, IL — The Illinois primary election is just over three months away, and candidates continue to announce endorsements across the various races. Gary Rabine, a Schaumburg businessman, is seeking the GOP nomination in the gubernatorial contest. He said Tuesday he has received an endorsement from Michael Flynn, a retired U.S. Army General, who served as a national security advisor for former President Donald Trump.

"General Flynn recognizes that we need to elect a principled, life-long conservative who has the experience to fix the mess in Illinois created by Mike Madigan and JB Pritzker," Rabine said in a statement.

Rabine is the owner of Rabine Paving, a family business he purchased from his father in 1994, and turned it into a multimillion-dollar operation. He announced his candidacy last March. Rabine is one of 10 Republicans who will be on the primary ballot, including Darren Bailey, Cheryl Erickson, Richard Irvin, Emily Johnson, Christopher Roper, Paul Schimpf, Keisha Smith, Max Solomon and Jesse Sullivan.

“Today, I proudly endorse and pledge my full support to Gary Rabine for Governor of Illinois. Our nation needs more leaders like Gary to step forward and serve," Flynn said. "Gary is a self-made business success story. A man of principle, integrity and passion for public service. He believes that the power of government is derived from the citizens and that individual freedoms are sacrosanct. Gary's contributions to the conservative movement are unequaled by any other candidate this election cycle — he does not just talk conservative, he takes action."

In 2020, Trump, in the final days of his presidency, granted a "full pardon" to Flynn, who twice pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
