Racist Graffiti Found At Pedestrian Underpass
The discovery was made Sunday morning near Northwest Highway, East Kensington Road and North Douglas Avenue in Arlington Heights.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Graffiti, described as "hateful" and "racist," was found spray-painted at various locations in Arlington Heights Sunday morning, according to the village. One day after Chicago was one of the many U.S. cities to see protests in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minnesota, the graffiti was discovered at a pedestrian underpass near Northwest Highway, East Kensington Road and North Douglas Avenue in Arlington Heights.
"Cowardly, hateful and destructive acts such as these are not representative of who we are in Arlington Heights, and such sentiments are not welcome here," Mayor Thomas Hayes said. "The fact that these divisive acts occurred during a time when our nation is in the midst of a global pandemic and mourning the tragic murder of George Floyd and its aftermath, makes them even more despicable."
