UPDATED: Road Project Will Close Railroad Crossing Starting May 21
The railroad crossing at Northwest Highway and Arthur Avenue in Arlington Heights will close on Tuesday, May 21 and reopen by October. A website is available for residents to learn more about the project.

A $5 million road project along Northwest Highway, Arthur Avenue and Davis Street in Arlington Heights will shut down the railroad crossing at Northwest Highway and Arthur in coming weeks, according to Mike Pagones, deputy director of engineering for the Village of Arlington Heights.
The official closing at the railroad crossing will happen on May 21. The website, www.us14arthurdavis.com is available for residents to receive regular updates on the project.
The improvements are meant to improve safety as traffic studies have shown a high number of accidents near the railroad crossing, Pagones said.
