Rolling Meadows Girls Varsity Basketball Takes 2nd in State Finals
In a heart-stopping game against Chicago Heights, Rolling Meadows was beaten by just one point in the IHSA State Finals in Bloomington on Saturday.
The Rolling Meadows Girls Varsity Basketball team has a lot to be proud of this season; they took 2nd place at the IHSA state finals over the weekend.
In a tense final match against Chicago Heights with seconds on the clock, Rolling Meadows had a one-point lead over their competitior with a score of 47-46.
According to Head Coach Ryan Kirkorsky, Chicago Heights got the ball out of bounds, took a couple of shots and scored off a rebound with less than a second left in the game, making the final score 48-47, Chicago Heights.

There were 173 teams in the 4A division who competed in the finals.
"I'm extremely proud, this was a game where they had command going into half time, they responded and did everything they train to do," Kirkorksy said.

Alexis Glasgow led most of the game with 24 points, Jackie Kemph, the MSL East Player of the Year, had a lot of attention on her, and Jenny Vliet scored 12 points and had nine rebounds, Kirkorsky said.
"What was most rewarding about this season, in addition to how well the girls played, is that no matter where we played, it was a home game for us because of all the community support," Kirkorsky said.
The team had a tremendous season.
