Sex Offender Nabbed Loitering Near Park: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

The 72-year-old was within 500 feet of a public park when he was arrested Thursday night.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Jack A. Bockins, 72, of the 200 block of S. Arlington Heights Road, is accused of loitering by a sex offender within 500 feet of public park, and was arrested at 6:43 p.m. June 12, in the 0-10 block of S. Vail Avenue, Arlington Heights. He was released and assigned a court date of June 25.

Reginald Bryson, 40, of the 300 block of W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested at 1:05 p.m. June 5, in the 1300 block of W. Irving Park Road, Streamwood.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Jonathan J. Delahanty, 29, of the 5700 block of Sacramento, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 3:20 a.m. June 7, at Arlington Heights Road and Interstate 90. He was released and assigned a court date of July 15.

FORGERY

Gerardo Salinas Ramos, 26, of the 300 block of 23rd Avenue, Bellwood, is accused of forgery, and was arrested at 6:10 p.m June 11, in the 300 block of 23rd Avenue, Bellwood. He was released and assigned a court date of June 16.

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

Steven M. Salzman, 61, homeless, had a warrant for four violations of bail bond, and was arrested at 10:19 p.m. June 10, in the 0-10 block of S. Evergreen Avenue.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee at Kohl's, 800 W. Dundee Road, reported at 6:29 p.m. June 2, two women stole approximately $1,700 worth of Sephora products. The pair left in a blue Ford Expedition. One is described as having brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt, and gray sweatpants. The other had brown hair, was wearing a blue shirt, black pants and carrying a purse.
  • An employee at Kohl's, 800 W. Dundee Road, called police to report that between 4:30 p.m. and 4:37 p.m. June 4, a man brought $883 worth of skin care products to the cash register, but only paid the cashier $200 by distracting her and taking cash back. The man was described as between 25 and 35 years old, short hair, full beard, wearing a discolored denim jacket, tan shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A citizen reported that between 2 p.m. and 2:19 p.m. June 5, someone had slashed the four tires on her black Volkswagen parked in the 0-10 block of S. Dryden Place.
