For the sixteenth consecutive year, St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect will host three Lenten Fish Fry Fridays on March 8, March 22, and April 12 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Parish Life Center/Gymnasium at the corner of Lincoln and I-Oka. Private, preferred seating with restaurant-style service will be an available option in the adjacent Community Room for seniors and adults without children. Families will be seated in the PLC/gym with buffet-style service.

“We are excited to be able to offer this Lenten dinner event to the parish and local community once again,” said Libby Bullock, who along with Corrie Cogan co-chairs the Fish Fry Fridays. “All meal choices will be priced with a flat fee; it doesn’t matter what you have. Adults will pay $12, seniors $11 and kids $7. Our March 8 fish fry will be a Pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration featuring the Dillon Gavin School of Irish Dance on stage from 6:30-7:30 p.m. That evening our cash bar will also be serving Guinness and Harp beer. Only regular fish fry meal choices and sides will be on the menu. So come enjoy the Irish Dancers and have an Irish beer with us!”

Bullock said that to continue to meet the needs of the two main dining groups, seniors and adults without children will again be offered the option of being seated in the relatively quiet comfort of the Parish Community Room where they will be waited upon by St. Raymond junior high students. Families with children will be served buffet-style in the more spacious gym area. As in the past, take-out is an option.

Both dine in and carryout meals will feature fried cod, fried shrimp, or cheese pizza as the main entree, with a choice of two of the following as sides: French fries, Mac n’ cheese, coleslaw, and apple sauce. A salad, rolls, and dessert come with each meal. Complimentary coffee, tea, water, and lemonade will be available along with a cash bar for beer, wine, and soda.

“We welcome everyone to our table at St. Raymond this Lent,” added Bullock. “Our food and service are outstanding and the community feeling during the night is warm and inviting. All are also welcome to join our community for the Stations of the Cross in our adjoining church at 7 p.m. on each of the three Fish Fry Fridays.”
