Police responded to the 600 block of Sturnbridge Lane on Sept. 28 after receiving a 911 call regarding a fight in progress. Porties was found at the scene, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Schaumburg police and paramedics performed life-saving measures on Porties before he was taken to the hospital by the Schaumburg Fire Department.
While initially felony charges were denied because of insufficient evidence, the Schaumburg Police Investigations Division said it worked closely with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office to continue the investigation.
