Stabbing Victim Dies From Injuries In Des Plaines: Police

DES PLAINES, IL — A female, who was found with multiple stab wounds in the hallway of an apartment building Thursday night, died from her injuries overnight. According to the Des Plaines Police Department, the fatal stabbing occurred in the 1400 block of Ashland Avenue.

Police told Patch the investigation is ongoing and details like the victim's identity, age, will be provided when it becomes available.

Police were called to the apartment building at around 9:27 p.m. and found the female in the hallway. They provided first aid to the victim until the Des Plaines Fire Department arrived and took her to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

A preliminary investigation suggest this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community. The Major Case Assistance Team is assisting Des Plaines police with the investigation.
