Arlington Heights Police Police Department Crime Alerts, Aug. 30 through Sept. 6.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL —
Criminal damage to vehicle
- Police said an unknown offender(s) damaged the tires on a victim's 2005 Ford Econoline van between the hours of 10 p.m., Aug. 30 and 9 a.m., Aug. 31 at JD's BBQ, in the 280 block of W. Rand. Police said the cost to repair the damage is estimated at $800 to $1000.

Sept. 6:
- Police said cash was stolen from an unlocked 2018 gray Chevy Traverse in the 3900 block of Proctor Circle between 2:18 a.m. and 2:20 a.m.

- Police said change was stolen from an unlocked 2013 white Buick Verano between 3 p.m., Sept.5 and 10:30 a.m., Sept. 6 in the 1900 block Spring Ridge.
- Police said change was stolen from an unlocked 2017 green Subaru Outback between 6 p.m., Sept. 5 and 8:30 a.m., Sept. 6 in the 1800 block Spring Ridge.
- Police said a phone charger was stolen, valued at $30, from an unlocked 2008 blue Hyundai Santa Fe between 11:30 p.m., Sept. 5 and 7:15 a.m., Sept. 6 in the 700 block W. Brittany.
Sept. 4:
- Police said a purse was stolen from an unlocked 2017 black GMC Acadia in the 100 block of S. Forrest between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. According to police, the purse was later recovered in the area, but cash was missing from it.
Sept. 1-3:
- Police said change was stolen from an unlocked 2013 silver Ford Edge. in the 1100 block S. Haddow between 12 p.m., Sept. 1 and 9 a.m., Sept. 3.
Burglary
Sept. 2:
- Police said unknown offenders were able to go through an unlocked window to get inside a home in the 1400 block of E. Jaine between 9:50 a.m. and 11:05 p.m. Police said jewelry was stolen, but the value is unknown at this time.
Aug. 31:
- According to police, an unknown amount of jewelry was stolen from a home in the 1600 block of E. Canterbury between 3:45 p.m. and 7:21 p.m.
Aug. 30:
- Police said an unknown amount of jewelry was stolen from a home in the 400 block of E. Noyes between 6:46 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
Police said burglaries and thefts to vehicles are preventable, and advise everyone to lock their cars, take their keys, remove all valuables and follow the 9 p.m. routine.
