Teen Spirit: Rolling Meadows H.S. Films First Ever Lip Dub

A music video including 2,100 students lip-syncing to a variety of songs in the school's hallways was recently produced by the RMHS Junior Leaders Class.

Rolling Meadows High School students showed their spirit at the end of the school year and filmed their first ever Lip Dub on May 22, which included participation from 2,100 students.

The Junior Class Leaders at RMHS, a physical education class that emphasizes leadership in the community, directed and led the 9 minute video that panned through the school’s hallways to showcase members of the student body, and those involved in different extracurricular activities.

“On the actual film day, the school's administration was very generous in giving us an entire hour of film time,” said Ian Fitzgerald, a junior at RMHS who was the lead cameraman and handled editing of the final video. “Passing periods and some classes were shortened in order to make that happen.

Fitzgerald said the singers in the video couldn’t hear the music that was playing, so at times the lip synching was off from the song's words.

The closing scene of the video included only upperclassmen.

“We thought it would be great to display some of the Mustang pride Rolling Meadows High School has,” Fitzgerald said.
