Teens Accused Of Armed Robbery Apprehended In Prospect Heights

Attempted homicide is among the charges against the teenagers stemming from the August robbery at a 7-Eleven.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, IL — Two teenagers accused of an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in August have been apprehended. The Prospect Heights Police Department said Thursday one teenager was taken into custody Oct. 22 and the other was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident at 1 North Wolf Road.

The charges are as follows:

  • Male, 16, is being charged with one count of armed robbery, discharging a firearm and one count of attempted homicide
  • Male, 15, is being charged with one count of armed robbery, discharging a firearm, one count of attempted homicide

According to police, officers were called to the store on Aug. 31 for shots fired and an armed robbery in progress. The two teenagers fled the scene on foot.

The Prospect Heights Police Department arrested the first teenager. Police were assisted with the second arrest by the Northern Illinois Alarm System.
