Third in the State, St. Viator Soccer Team Recognized by Village Board
Arlington Heights Mayor presented certificates of achievement to the Saint Viator Lions soccer team after the boys finished third in the class 2A Illinois state tournament.
About twenty golden-haired boys from the Saint Viator soccer team lined up to shake the mayor's hand and accept a certificate of achievement Monday night.
Dyed blonde, the hair color is not the easiest thing to explain to parents, but for the Lions, gold hair is a good thing. It's a good luck ritual.
The team keeps the tradition of going gold before heading to the state tournament, and this year, the tradition proved to be true, the Lions earned a top title in state.
