Vietnam Veterans Needed For Interviews
Arlington Heights bank hopes to create collection of stories from vets, with help from high school students

Vietnam Veterans who are willing to talk about their wartime experiences are needed for a local project.
The People’s Bank of Arlington Heights is sponsoring an educational project that pairs the veterans with local high school students who will interview them about their time in Vietnam.
The bank is hoping to collect their stories into an anthology, which will be written by students from Saint Viator High School.

The bank has already published two similar books, which feature stories from World War II and Korean War veterans. The first was done in 2009, and was so successful, the bank sponsored the second on the Korean War in 2011. Both books were penned by Saint Viator students.
Now, they are turning to the Vietnam war.

Saint Viator students will be learning about the war in school as they prepare to interview the veterans.
Anyone who served in the military, government or any other capacity during the Vietnam War, and who is willing to tell their tale, is welcome to participate.
The interviews are expected to take place over the next couple of weeks. Before actually meeting with the veterans, the students also will learn interview techniques.
