DES PLAINES, IL — Though they are requesting to remain anonymous, the winner of a $1.45 million lottery contest has come forward. The winner purchased the winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at a BP gas station in Des Plaines.
"When I realized how big my prize was, I almost passed out," the winner said. "I thought, 'no way, this can't be real.' I checked the winning numbers online multiple times the morning after the drawing. It wasn't until I clicked on 'check your numbers,' and entered the numbers on my ticket that I realized, 'Oh my gosh, I really won.'"
The winning ticket matched all five numbers in the Sunday evening drawing to score the jackpot prize. The winning numbers were: 6-16-32-33-40.
