Prospect High School’s Knights' Way students are collecting winter clothing on Thursday, Nov. 14, to donate to the Lakota Sioux Nation, a semi-autonomous “nation” of Native Americans in the U.S. The drive is part of the Lakota Spirit Project, which was founded in 2012 by PHS alum Daniel Wessell, to promote healthy living on the Pine Ridge Native American Reservation in South Dakota. Knights' Way students are spearheading the clothing collection and hope to fill the truck that Wessell is driving to South Dakota. For more information or to donate items, contact Jay Kyp-Johnson at jay.kypjohnson@d24.org or 847.718.5284.
