Victim Identified In Fatal Crash With PACE Bus
Icy road conditions contributed to the crash, police said.

NORTH AURORA, IL — A driver involved in a crash with a PACE bus and several other vehicles was killed early Wednesday near North Aurora, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Police said the four-vehicle crash happened at around 7 a.m. on Route 31 north of Oak Street.
The Kane County Sheriff's Office said Monica Cruz, 41, of Elgin was killed in the crash after she apparently lost control of her Mercury Mountaineer SUV due to icy conditions and crossed the center line onto southbound Route 31.
The SUV was then struck by a southbound PACE bus, and the crash pushed the SUV back into the northbound lanes, where it collided with a Honda Civic and was then struck by a GMC van.
