1st Phase Of New Affordable Housing For Seniors Nears Completion
Applications for the new duplexes and single-family houses in the neighborhood on Aurora's far west side opened Wednesday morning.

AURORA, IL — The first phase of a new affordable housing development for senior citizens is nearly complete, just in time for National Fair Housing Month this April.
The 1449 Senior Estates is a new neighborhood on Aurora's far west side that will feature 70 duplexes and single-family homes with either one or two bedrooms and an attached garage. The subdivision, generally located at 1449 Jericho Road, will include a clubhouse, a pickleball court and other amenities.
Mayor Richard Irvin joined the Aurora Housing Authority Tuesday afternoon to announce the application requirements for the residences and to provide a tour of a nearly finished unit. One of the requirements is for tenants to be 62 years or older on a fixed income.
