2 Men Shot At 4th Of July Gathering On Aurora's East Side: Police

Two Aurora residents, one 29 and the other 35, were shot on the city's East Side, according to police.

AURORA, IL — Two Aurora men were shot at a Fourth of July gathering on the city's East Side, police said.

Two men, ages 29 and 35, were attending a gathering outside a residence in the 200 block of North Loucks Street when they were struck by gunfire at about 11:55 p.m., according to a Tuesday news release.

Officers rendered aid to the men before paramedics brought them to a local hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Evidence technicians found multiple shell casings in the area.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community. The motive remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

Detectives from Aurora Police Department's Investigations Bureau are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 630-256-5500. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of felony crime offenders and the capture of felony fugitives.
