For the 2020-21 school year, Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy will serve students in grades 5 through 8, with an additional 25 seats added for incoming 6th graders. These new seats will be filled through the lottery process.

- February 24, 2020: Online Application available
- March 20, 2020, 3:00 p.m.: Deadline to submit online application
- March 27, 2020: Parent will be notified of eligibility status
- April 9, 2020: Lottery held at Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy (25 seats available for incoming 6th graders)
- April 13, 2020: Parents notified of students selection or wait list status
- April 30, 2020: Deadline for parents to return the Acceptance of Enrollment form
Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy
- For 2020-21, 5th through 8th Grade Magnet will be held at Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy
- Location: 157 N. Root St., Aurora IL
- School calendar: Follows East Aurora School calendar
- Transportation: Transportation provided if student qualifies
- School hours: 7:30 am-2:30 pm (2020-2021)
- Curriculum: STEM-centered curriculum, uses District 131 textbooks, materials and resources as basis for extending and enriching content.
- Technology: 1:1 – all students are provided a school issued laptop to take between home and school for the year
- Sports: 5th grade intramurals; all 6th – 8th grade sports are available except football and wrestling. Students may attend their home school for football and wrestling.
- Band/choir programs: Band beginning in 5th grade during the school day. Choir is available as an after school club.
- English Language Learners: Sheltered instruction available in grades 5-7. All classes are taught in English.
