34 East Aurora High School Students Named Illinois State Scholars

The Aurora students join the nearly 16,000 students who have been named State Scholars since the designation was first introduced in 1958.

AURORA, IL — Thirty-four East Aurora High School students graduating in 2024 were designated Illinois State Scholars, the district announced.

The Aurora students join the nearly 16,000 students across the country who have been named State Scholars since the designation was first introduced in 1958. The award is non-monetary; each student receives a congratulatory letter and a certificate of achievement from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, the state's college access and financial aid agency.

"We're extremely proud of our East Aurora School District Illinois State Scholars. They are at the top of their class and have demonstrated that they can excel academically no matter their challenges," Superintendent Jennifer Norrell said in a statement. "We would also like to recognize their families and our school administrators and staff for providing our students with the support they need to succeed and reach their full potential."
