
AURORA, IL — The Aurora Fire Department responded to five different fires recently that had a dollar loss equaling $150,000.
On July 16 at 4:50 p.m., a fire in an exterior wall of a restaurant in the 1200 block of Farnsworth caused minor smoke and fire damage. The cause was due to improperly discarded smoking material. The restaurant was closed until the Kane County Health Department could inspect it. There were no injuries occurred.
On July 19 at 11:49 p.m., in the 700 of East Downer, a vehicle that caught fire in a driveway caused exterior damage to the front of the garage. Currently the cause is under investigation. There were no injuries reported.

On July 24 at 6:36 p.m., in the 900 block of Rural Street, for a dryer fire in the basement of a 1 1⁄2 story wood frame single family dwelling. The house was habitable and no injuries occurred.
On July 25 at 2:51 a.m., in the 600 block of Kendall Street, a fire was located in the attic of a 2 story single family wood frame house. The house was deemed uninhabitable and is currently under investigation. There were no injuries reported.

On July 26 at 10:57 a.m., in the 300 block of North Elmwood Street, a fire occurred in an upstairs bedroom of a 1 1⁄2 story wood frame single family dwelling. The house was deemed uninhabitable and the cause of the fire was electrical in nature. There were no injuries reported.
