5 Businesses Failed To Card Undercover APD Cadets: Police

Cadets, all under the age of 21, went into different shops in an attempt to purchase alcohol or tobacco. They found five that didn't card.

AURORA, IL — Aurora Police Department cadets, all under the age of 21, were tasked to go undercover into different businesses to see if they complied with city ordinances and carded patrons.

Cadets entered 10 establishments to attempt to purchase alcohol or tobacco last week. They found five of the businesses carded and five didn't, officials said.

After each unlawful sale was completed, Special Operations Group investigators entered the store and issued the clerk a notice to appear for the unlawful sale of an alcoholic or tobacco product to a person under the age of 21.
