The community will feature 70 new ranch units — 50 will be duplexes and 20 will be single-family houses with attached garages. The neighborhood's clubhouse will be home to a large activities room, a fitness center and a media center.
Built on a 12-acre site, 1449 Senior Estates will have pickleball courts, an outdoor community area and on-site management offices, according to a news release.

The houses will be available to residents 62 and older with an annual income between $15,000 to $45,000.
The project is being developed by Northern Lights Development Corporation and Hope Bound Development Corporation. Both groups are investing $23 million in private money raised from the Bank of America, the National Equity Fund and the Illinois Facilities.
The project is dependent on a 30-year agreement that requires the property to be senior housing for at least that long, according to reports from the Chicago Tribune.
