1. 1 Hurt In Aggravated Domestic Battery On Half Moon Circle: Aurora Police (patch.com) โ Aurora police responded Tuesday night to an aggravated domestic battery that began on West Galena Boulevard and led to a large police presence on Half Moon Circle. One man was injured and treated at the scene, while the suspect fled, prompting an hours-long road closure as detectives continued investigating what officials describe as an isolated incident between known individuals.

Aurora Man Possessed, Shared Pornography Of Children Under 13: Mosser (patch.com) โ A 41-year-old Aurora resident is facing 20 felony counts for allegedly possessing and sharing child sexual abuse material involving victims younger than 13. Prosecutors say the man, who lives on High Street, was released under court-ordered conditions after a September detention hearing and is due back in court on Oct. 15.

Boy, 16, Last Seen A Week Ago Leaving Home On Foot: Aurora Police (patch.com) โ Aurora police are asking for the community's help to find 16-year-old Chance Draper, who has been missing since he left his home on foot the morning of Oct. 1. Authorities shared his clothing description and urged anyone with information to contact Aurora investigators by phone or email.

4. Prison Terms Revealed For Aurora Teen, 19, Convicted In 2023 Murder: Mosser (patch.com) โ An Aurora man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for the 2023 shooting death of 19-year-old Edwin Varela, following an attempted cannabis sale on North Glen Circle. Prosecutors say Zahmeir Andrews, now 19 and from Aurora, fired into Varela's car, killing him and leading to multiple felony convictions, while related cases for other defendants are still pending.

5. Aurora to run its own warming shelter this winter (chicagotribune.com) โ Aurora will directly operate its winter warming shelter this season at 712 S. River St., hiring 17 temporary staff and security for nights when temperatures hit 32 degrees or below. The move, costing just over $150,000, replaces church-run operations and aims to reduce volunteer burnout, tighten accountability, and better coordinate services for unhoused residents while partner groups expand efforts in Aurora and nearby Kendall County.
