APD Receives NRA Grant For Ammunition Used In Firearm Practice
The money will be used to purchase more ammunition used during the department's quarterly firearms proficiency training, officials said.
AURORA, IL — The National Rifle Association granted the Aurora Police Department $1,500 to go toward purchasing ammunition, officials said.
The funds from the grant will be used to purchase additional ammunition that officers will use when practicing firearms proficiency, according to a news release.
The police department conducts department-wide training with firearms quarterly.

The Aurora Police Department Special Response Team also trains three times a month to ensure firearm proficiency is at its highest level, officials said. Members of the SRT are assigned to every shift and multiple units throughout the department.
