Arrest Made In Valentine's Day Stabbing: Aurora Police
Police said the Aurora man approached a car, opened the door and stabbed a woman in the leg and hand Tuesday evening.

AURORA, IL — A 24-year-old Aurora man was arrested in connection to a stabbing that took place on Valentine's Day, police said Thursday.
Jonathan Cruz, of the 400 block of Claim Street, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of vehicular invasion, both felonies, after police said he stabbed a woman in the leg Tuesday evening.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Claim Street around 5 p.m. Tuesday when they learned the woman was attacked while she was sitting in her car. Officials said the man approached the car, opened the door and stabbed her in the leg and hand.

He proceeded to flee to a nearby residence. Police said he then exited the place on his own and was taken into custody without further incident.
The woman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and Aurora Police Department evidence technicians and detectives were dispatched to investigate the crime scene.

Cruz, whose bail is set for $150,000, is being held at the Kane County jail, documents show. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 22.
