Aurora Area Residents Connect with Resources at Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair
Local organizations, volunteers and elected officials joined Nicor Gas to help connect Aurora residents with valuable community resources.

More than 240 residents attended the Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair at West Aurora High School, where local organizations and volunteers came together to provide families with access to food assistance, energy-saving resources and community support services.
More than 16 community organizations participated in the event, offering information on grants, assistance programs and tools to help residents better manage household energy costs. Through a partnership with Top Box Foods, more than 6,500 pounds of food were distributed to families in attendance. Residents also received free energy-saving kits and information about available utility assistance programs.
Illinois State Senator Karina Villa, Illinois State Representative Barbara Hernandez and the City of Aurora joined Nicor Gas in supporting the event, alongside volunteers who helped connect attendees with resources throughout the day.
The Community Connection Resource Fair is part of Nicor Gas’ ongoing efforts to support local communities by partnering with organizations that provide essential services and assistance to residents.
