Aurora Boy Struck By Car; Police Searching For Driver
A driver hit an 11-year-old boy riding his bike Sunday afternoon on Aurora's east side and did not stop to help, according to police.
AURORA, IL — Aurora police are searching for a driver who they say hit an 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle Sunday afternoon and did not stop. The Aurora Police Department released a video of the crash, which was recorded at about 2:20 p.m. Sunday by a nearby home’s surveillance camera.
The video shows a silver or gray car driving east on Montgomery Road toward Cumberland Road on the city’s east side, while a child on a bike is riding his bike north toward the intersection. The car appears to slow down as the boy on the bike begins to cross Montgomery Road, but it still hits the boy on the bike, flinging him off his bike.

The driver does not stop the vehicle or offer any help to the boy laying in the street, the video shows.
The boy was taken to a local hospital by his family, according to Paris Lewbel, a spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department.
