Aurora Cops Share Pic Of Car Suspected In Fatal Hit-And-Run

AURORA, IL — Aurora police have released a photo of a vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Brent Jean, 57, on Jan. 13. Police say they are looking for a light-colored sedan in connection with the crash, which took place in the 500 block of South River Street.

According to police, they got a call around 7 p.m. that someone had been hit by a car. When police arrived, emergency responders tried to resuscitate Jean, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police interviewed witnesses and learned that the car had fled the scene after hitting Jean. The Aurora Police Department's traffic unit used drone technology to create a 3-D map of the scene in order to get more details about the fatal hit-and-run crash.

Aurora Police are asking anyone with information to call the police department's traffic unit at 630-256-5330. Residents can also leave an anonymous tip with Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Tips left with Crime Stoppers are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
