Aurora Derailment Delays Metra Trains
Trains were running about 40 minutes behind schedule Tuesday morning.

AURORA, IL –A freight train derailment at the BNSF Eola Railyard between the Aurora and Route 59 stations halted Metra trains in both directions Tuesday morning. Trains were running again by around 8 a.m., but riders were advised to listen for announcements and to check metrarail.com for updates.
An extra train was slated to depart from the Route 59 station, making a stop in Naperville, to accommodate passengers affected by the delay, according to ABC Chicago.
Even though the tracks were cleared, Metra was telling passengers trains were running about 40 minutes behind schedule.

All tracks are now cleared from the earlier BNSF freight train derailment. There are residual delays approximately 40 mins behind schedule.
