Aurora Extends Curfew Through Weekend; Starts At 10 PM
The city of Aurora will be under curfew for a full week, after officials extended the measure through Sunday morning.

AURORA, IL — Officials have extended Aurora’s curfew for three more nights following protests in the city and region against the killing of black people by police. Mayor Richard Irvin announced Thursday that the curfew will run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night until Sunday.
The mayor first enacted a curfew Sunday night after peaceful protests downtown gave way to looting and clashes between police and protesters. Curfews started at 8:30 p.m. for the first four days, under the mayor’s orders.
