Aurora Extends Exhibit To Commemorate Henry Pratt Shooting
The exhibit features hand-written cards, stuffed animals and other items left to honor the shooting victims.

AURORA, IL — An exhibit that was organized to commemorate the anniversary of the Feb. 15, 2019, shooting, at Henry Pratt Manufacturing, has been extended for two more weeks, according to the Aurora Historical Society website. The original date for closing was set for Feb. 29.
The exhibit, presented by the Aurora Historical Society, has filled the building at Pierce Art and History Center, with newspaper clippings, handmade cards local kids made for the Aurora Police Department and stuffed animals. The stuffed bears and other animals, encased in glass, are surrounded by photos, letters and other items left by mourners in the wake of the shooting.

Five white wooden crosses are also on display. The crosses, made by hand by local cross-maker Greg Zanis, were carried through snow by Aurora residents in the aftermath of the shooting and serve as a stark reminder of the lives of those lost that day: Vicente Juarez, Trevor Wehner, Russell Beyer, Josh Pinkard and Clay Parks.
