Aurora Farmers Market Returns Saturday For 111th Season

Nearly 50 vendors will be set up at Water Street Square in downtown Aurora to usher in another summer of the state's oldest farmers market.

AURORA, IL — The Aurora Farmers Market will open Saturday for the 111th season.

Nearly 50 vendors will be set up at Water Street Square in downtown Aurora to usher in another summer of the state's oldest farmers market, operating since 1912. The market will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday mornings through Oct. 14.

New vendors will join dozens of familiar farmers and fan favorites to offer fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, cheese, bread, plants and flowers, and other locally made products.

Weekday markets will begin complementing the Saturday market in July.

Starting July 12 through Aug. 16, the new Music and Market will be "the perfect blend" of fresh food and music, officials said. It will take place from 5-8 p.m. every Wednesday on Stolp Avenue between Downer Place and Galena Blvd.

The following day, the Aurora Farmers Market will begin operating each Thursday too. The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Aug. 17 in the West Plaza Shopping Center, 1901 W. Galena Blvd.
