Aurora Firefighter Dies Unexpectedly at Home

James Kenneth Podbregar had been with the department for 18 years.

A 57-year-old Aurora firefighter and paramedic died unexpectedly Wednesday.

Aurora Fire Department Lt. Jim Rhodes said James Kenneth Podbregar was at his home in Sleepy Hollow when he started to feel ill and passed away shortly thereafter.

Podbregar was in his 18th year with the department and was assigned to Medic 4. He is survived by his wife, son and three daughters.
