Aurora First Responders To Appear At Fundraiser Benefitting Cops

The event will help raise funds to equip Aurora first responders with more protective gear.

AURORA, IL -- A fundraiser is planned to help provide additional protective gear for Aurora first responders in the wake of the devastating mass shooting on Feb. 15. The Helping Our Heroes fundraiser will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Belle Salle Events Center.

Those who attend the fundraiser will have a chance to meet first responders from the Aurora Police Department. The free event, hosted by 7th Ward Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns will also feature music and appetizers, along with a chance to make voluntary donations.

According to the fundraiser description, donations will be used to "help our first responders obtain additional safety gear to better serve and protect our community and to keep us #AuroraStrong."
