AURORA, IL — For the second year in a row, Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry hosted an Easter basket giveaway. But unlike in 2021, when staff distributed 350 baskets, more families received goodies Wednesday.

This year, staff distributed 500 baskets to area residents who signed up for the event, which was fully booked.

Volunteer Irene Robles, a resident of Aurora, dressed up as the Easter Bunny to greet families as they pulled into the pantry's lot, at 1110 Jericho Road in Aurora, and helped load cars.

In order to get baskets — up to three per family — guests had to show their event registration to volunteers. The distribution was drive-thru style.

Here's a look at photos from the second-annual Easter giveaway Wednesday.
