AURORA, IL — In its 24th year, the Aurora Greek Fest is scheduled to return for three days on the last weekend in September.

Hosted by St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 E. Fifth Ave., the Greek festival happens over a long weekend twice a year, in May and September. The event attracts thousands of guests from Aurora and the surrounding suburbs, all coming to enjoy everything Greek, organizers said.

This fall, the festival will run from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 23-24 and from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 25. Visitors will be able to not only Greek food but get a "taste" of the church's religious heritage.

"The Aurora Greek Fest is much more than a cultural event for the families of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church," organizers said in a news release. "It is an opportunity to share a part of ourselves with the community. Who we are. Where we come from. What we believe."

Admission and parking are both free.
