Aurora Lifts Friday Night Curfew, Downtown Restrictions
The city has been under a nightly curfew since Sunday.

AURORA, IL — Aurora city officials have canceled the curfew set to kick in at 10 p.m Friday. The city has been under a nightly curfew since Mayor Richard Irvin and county officials first enacted the measure on Sunday after a peaceful protest gave way to looting and clashes between protesters and police.
Irvin had previously extended the curfew to run through Sunday morning. He is expected to make another announcement Saturday regarding the curfew.
Travel restrictions in downtown Aurora have been lifted, but they remain in place around the Fox Valley Mall, according to city officials.
