Aurora Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Relatives
Prosecutors allege the man sexually assaulted and abused two relatives between 2008 and 2011 when they were under the age of 13.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man is facing more than a dozen felony charges after police said he sexually assaulted two relatives between 2008 and 2011.
Michael Bishop, 47, was arraigned Thursday on 14 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to Kane County State’s Attorney Joe McMahon. Bishop also faces a predatory criminal sexual assault charge in DeKalb County and similar charges in Kendall County, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors allege Bishop sexually assaulted and abused two relatives between 2008 and 2011 when they were under the age of 13.

"The victims in this case asked that we identify their relationship to the defendant to encourage other potential victims to come forward," McMahon said. "They also want other survivors of sexual abuse to know that it is important to disclose abuse to hold offenders accountable. I am deeply grateful for their courage in talking about their abuse and hope others are empowered to do the same, no matter when the abuse occurred."
A Kane County judge set Bishop’s bail at $100,000, according to court records. He is due to next appear in court Tuesday.
