Aurora Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Bar Stabbing
Police said a fight between two men over a woman they both knew ended with one stabbing the other. The victim was critically injured.

A fight over a woman has landed an Aurora man in jail on an attempted murder charge.
Michael W. Moser-Booth, 35, of the 2300 block of Goldenrod Court in Aurora, has also been charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection with the stabbing of a 24-year-old Chicago man inside O'Malley's Bar on the east side of Aurora just before midnight on April 12, police said.
Police said Moser-Booth entered the bar, which is located at 701 Hill Avenue, and confronted a 24-year-old Chicago man who was with a group of people, including a woman both men knew, according to an Aurora Police Department press release. An argument ensued over the woman before Moser-Booth took out a knife, threatened to kill the man and then stabbed him in the neck.

Moser-Booth fled the bar but was tackled in the parking lot by an off-duty Aurora Police Department officer who witnessed the stabbing, according to the news release. He was still holding the knife used in the stabbing when he was taken into custody, police said.
The Chicago man was taken to an Aurora hospital with critical injuries. He is expected to survive.

Moser-Booth’s bond was set at $150,000 on Thursday.
He has been transferred to the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles and has a pending court date.
