Aurora Man Charged In Drag Racing Incident
Police say several cars crashed into each other during the incident.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man faces multiple charges after police say he was involved in a drag racing incident. Diego Deloera, 20, of the 400 block of North Farnsworth Avenue, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and having a loud muffler, according to Aurora police.
Police say they got a call Friday about 50 "Fast and Furious-type cars" that were getting ready to race from the parking lot of a Speedway gas station. While responding to the call, police say they saw a group of cars traveling down Sullivan Road.
Police followed the cars, but pulled over to help after the cars got into multiple crashes with each other near Sullivan Road and Route 25.

Police say they saw a black Jeep Cherokee SUV with a loud muffler make a fast U-Turn near the scene of the crashes. Police say they recognized the driver as Deloera and began pursuing the car.
According to police, Deloera ignored their flashing lights and increased his speed to more than 80 miles an hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. Police say they stopped following Deloera, but later found him with the Jeep parked at his home.

Deloera was taken into custody without incident.
