Aurora Man Dies In Car Crash After Fleeing Cops: Police

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man is dead after he crashed his car while fleeing a Kane County Sheriff's deputy. Police say Mark S. Brown, 47, ran a red light at the intersection of Broadway and Ashland, which caused the deputy to turn on his emergency lights in an attempt to pull Brown over.

According to police, Brown did not stop when the deputy tried to pull him over, so the deputy stopped pursuing Brown. Shortly after, police say Brown crashed into a car at the intersection of Broadway and Benton.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police say the occupants of the other car were not injured.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Kane County Major Crimes Unit and the Aurora Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
