Aurora Man Gets 25-Year Prison Sentence For Repeated Sex Assault: KCSA
José C. Salinas's prison sentence comes after the 43-year-old pled guilty to aggravated criminal sexual assault.

AURORA, IL — A 43-year-old Aurora man who pled guilty to aggravated criminal sexual assault was sentenced to 25 years in prison, officials said.
José C. Salinas, of the 700 block of Claim Street, sexually assaulted the victim, whom he knew, multiple times between April 2010 and June 2013, according to officials at the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.
The man is required by Illinois law to serve 85 percent of his sentence. He received credit for the 443 days he served in the Kane County jail before he was transported to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

"Thanks to this victim for her bravery and for believing in our office
as we sought justice on her behalf," Assistant State's Attorney Hillary Sadler said in a statement. "It took her eight years to muster the courage to report
this defendant's crimes against her. I want all victims of sexual assault to know that when they are ready to talk, we are here to listen."
