Aurora Man On Parole Charged With Car Theft
James C. Mitchell, 31, also had a warrant out for his arrest, authorities say.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man who was on parole is facing felony charges after he was accused of stealing a car from the parking lot of a gas station. Police say James C. Mitchell, 31, also had a warrant out for his arrest when he was caught stealing a Chevy Cruze from a gas station in the 2600 block of Farnsworth Road, Aurora Monday.
Mitchell was on "mandatory supervised release" in connection with a 2014 theft case and a 2015 case that involved charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer and residential burglary in Cook County.
Mitchell's warrant was issued after he was charged with fleeing eluding and reckless driving on March 6.

Mitchell is currently being held in Kane County Jail. His bond was set at $9,700 for both cases, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
He is set to appear in court again on May 5.
